A Level changes: Ofqual announced on November 9th 2012 that the January resit opportunity will be withhdrawn from January 2014. You will be able to resit AS and A2 units in the summer session only. It is likely that demand for the summer session will be very high so please register as soon as possible. We will take bookings from September 2013 for the summer exams. Exam entry fees will increase from January 2014. We can accept external candidates for any subject or unit from any board as long as: - there is no practical assessement (except for Edexcel Biology, Chemistry and Physics and AQA Biology - see below) - there is no oral exam (except Edexcel specifications) - there is no coursework component unless it is existing work with marks to be transferred to a future entry or the coursework component is adminstered by a recognised distance learning organistion. However, we can occasionally supervise and adminster coursework if you register as a student at the college and take lessons with one of our staff. We go out of our way to provide external candidates with an efficient service and we look after all of the administration. Please note, however, that it is up to you to provide us with the exact and correct details of the exams you wish to take. It is vital that you adhere to the deadlines set by us - these reflect the examination boards' deadlines but tend to be earlier. Coursework delivered beyond our deadline for submission may not be accepted.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL EDEXCEL SCIENCE PRACTICAL COURSES at AS and A2 Our practical courses ensure that students are able to provid e evidence of having done practical work and acquired techniques which the Edexcel A Level science specifications call 'validation'. If students cannot offer evidence of having done this work (e.g. a folder of practical work) then marks for assessments may be invalid. This is why our courses may be longer than some other courses offered by other institutions. In Biology, for instance, some practical experiments may take a number of weeks to complete. It is not really possible successfully to condense such exercises into a shorter timeframe. Edexcel inspect centres to ensure that they are meeting these requirements. We offer AS and A2 practical courses to cover the EDEXCEL Chemistry and Physics units (one course per subject per AS or A2 level). These courses run for 4 mornings or afternoons. 2013 fees - £450 for Chemistry and £400 for Physics. These courses tend to fill up quickly so early booking is recommended. Please enquire by emailing:college.administrator@campbellharris.co.uk We also offer a daytime (2hrs per week for about 11 or 12 weeks) course to cover the AS and A2 coursework requirements for Edexcel Biology or AQA. The fee for this is £650 for AS and A2 and £500 for AS or A2 only. The course will run as long as there are at least 4 candidates at each level. It takes place in the Spring and early Summer terms. Please enquire by emailing: college.administrator@campbellharris.co.uk A Level Chemistry evening courses We also offer 18 week AS and A2 Edexcel Chemistry evening classes. Click here for information.
